Virtual Learning Environment of English

Our students use Kidblog for writing purposes, online blog publishing and to create a safe virtual learning environment. Kidblog is a writing “space” for our students from Primary 4 till Primary 6.
It is a safe and easy online blog set up and managed by the teacher. Students and teacher can submit posts which are approved and then published on the blog. Class members can then respond/comment on the post. Comments must be approved by the teacher before they are published on the blog. No one can access the blog without a username and password assigned by the teacher.

In the classroom we also use others websites to practice English Language as www.englishexercises.org, www.aulaplaneta.com platform or duolingo app. and Google Classroom (soon launch). Apart from the coursebook, audio CD and CD-ROM. At school we go to the IT Classroom or handle Ipad devices in the English class in order to enter to these websites and educational platforms. At home pupils use their own devices: Ipads, Tablets, smartphones, laptops, etc.

All of these activities are tailored for our pupils and are supervised and monitored by the teacher. It is about creating a virtual learning environment that is controlled and organized  by the teacher for his students.

These are our blog platforms:

Kidblog for easy and safe e-portfolios

Thursday 5 March 2015

Our classes, Frank2015 and Frank's class have been migrated to the new platform of Kidblog. Although, you can still watch the previous students post in these links:

Kidblog meets the need for a safe and simple blogging platform suitable for elementary and middle school students. Most importantly, Kidblog allows teachers to monitor and control all publishing activity within the classroom blogging community

Students can move through the writing process seamlessly from Draft (getting started), to Review (revising & editing), to Published (ready for others to read). Posts in a Draft or Review status are only visible by the author (e.g. student) and the teacher.
